A New Year is Upon Us!
So, now that it is 2010 and everyone is putting down their resolutions I wanted to take a moment to look back on 2009. I was inspired to do this by a friend’s blog www.virtuallyshocking.com.
First it was a great year of professional growth. I took on a new subject area which I had not dealt with before. A small team of individuals who have more experience in this area have been essential in providing guidance and on how we can analyze this data. The quick of it is that we found a better way to measure performance than what is traditionally used and it will really help us track performance of our products. While this is just the beginning of this we can now look at the data and it makes much more sense and agrees with anecdotal evidence that we have seen both in the field and in literature. Now we are clarifying and preparing the results for dissemination. This dissemination process is another growth opportunity as the results are being communicated to a broad swath of stakeholders instead of just a technical audience. This is an exciting opportunity that I look forward to in 2010.
In the personal area I have been married a little over a year, bought a new house, and had a great year. My wife and I went to Peru and I got to see some of the Amazon rain forest as well as the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu , and a number of other really cool ruins. Hiking around in the rain forest was an unforgettable experience.
I look forward to 2010. I am off to figure out some goals and what I hope to be able to tell everyone a year from now.
All the Best in the New Year!
